Jasdeep and Gous Lead USA to Crushing 10-Wicket Victory Over UAE

USA completely crushed a struggling UAE team, winning by 10 wickets in Windhoek. After a solid six-wicket win against Namibia, USA put up an even more dominant performance. Andries Gous led the way, smashing 66 not out off 54 balls on his One Day International (ODI) debut, attacking UAE’s bowlers, who had already been bowled out for just 106 runs. However, Jasdeep Singh was the standout player of the day with his fierce four-wicket haul.

Netravalkar’s Early Strikes

Saurabh Netravalkar took full advantage of the early conditions, putting UAE in trouble right from his second over. He dismissed Muhammad Waseem and Alishan Sharafu in consecutive deliveries, leaving UAE’s batting in shambles. Netravalkar’s first spell was nearly perfect, as he gave away just 10 runs in his six overs. USA had UAE under immense pressure from the start, with their key batters falling early.

Spin Enters the Game Early

Despite some movement for the fast bowlers, USA introduced spin as early as the seventh over. Nosthush Kenjige quickly justified the decision, dismissing Vishnu Sukumaran for a slow 2 off 16 balls with a catch at slip off an inside edge.

Aryansh Sharma Stands Out Briefly

Young Aryansh Sharma was the only UAE batter who looked confident. He hit the only boundary in the powerplay, taking advantage of Juanoy Drysdale’s pace with three well-timed boundaries. Aryansh continued his aggression by hitting Kenjige over midwicket for six, but Kenjige got his revenge when Aryansh was caught at short cover, leaving UAE struggling at 43 for 4 in 12 overs.

Jasdeep Singh’s Dominance

Jasdeep Singh came in and made things worse for UAE. The 31-year-old fast bowler took two wickets in his first over, bowling Ayan Afzal Khan with a perfect delivery and getting Basil Hameed out next ball. Rahul Chopra and Ali Naseer tried to stop the collapse but Milind Kumar broke their partnership with a sharp off-spinner that caught Naseer out of his crease. Monank Patel brought Jasdeep back, and he delivered again, taking two more wickets in an over, dismissing Rahul Bhatia and Junaid Siddique.

Gous Begins ODI Career with a Bang

Andries Gous started his ODI career in style, hitting four consecutive boundaries from his first four balls, punishing Junaid Siddique’s loose deliveries. USA raced ahead in the powerplay, with Gous reaching his fifty in just 37 balls. He hit a couple of elegant cover drives off Muhammad Jawadullah to bring up USA’s fifty in the sixth over. Gous continued his aggressive approach, refusing to slow down.

Patel Finishes Off UAE

Smit Patel kept USA cruising toward victory, hitting back-to-back boundaries off Naseer in the 12th and 14th overs, sealing the win for USA. It was a day UAE would want to forget, as they were completely outplayed.
