SFA Championship 2024: India’s Biggest Grassroots Sports Event Kicks Off

Sports For All (SFA) has announced that the SFA Championships 2024-25 India’s biggest grassroots sports event will take place across 10 cities in India. More than 150,000 participants from over 7,000 of the best sporting schools in the country will compete in the event. The championships will feature 31 different sports at various venues. For the first time, the event will be held in Dimapur, Nagaland. Registration is now open for the event.

Growth of the SFA Championships

Since the event began in Mumbai in 2015, the SFA Championships have grown significantly. Over the years, 21 events have been organized in cities like Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru, and more. This year’s edition will begin on October 4 in Uttarakhand, and Jaipur will host the final event from December 6-16.

SFA’s Mission for Sports in India

SFA is dedicated to making grassroots sports more professional and organized. Their goal is to help India recognize the importance of sports and invest in its growth. According to Rajas Joshi, one of the founding members and the Chief Operating Officer of SFA, the organization’s aim is not just to hold competitions but also to promote sports participation across the country. SFA uses technology to identify and support young talent, providing a platform for discovering future stars.

Delhi Hosts SFA Championships for the Second Time

For the second time, the championships will take place in Delhi from October 5-15. The events will be held at well-known locations like Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and Indira Gandhi Stadium. In the first edition in Delhi, more than 6,200 athletes from 500 schools competed, bringing pride to their institutions.

Opportunities for Young Athletes

The SFA Championships give young athletes, aged 3-18, the chance to compete in 31 different sports. SFA also enhances the experience by using technology, such as AI-powered match videos and fitness assessments. This provides detailed performance data for athletes and coaches, helping them make informed training decisions.

Additionally, the event will be showcased in a special series on JioCinema, one of India’s largest OTT platforms.
